Chris Minnick

Author and painter Chris Minnick seeks to understand and illustrate patterns and stories that emerge from chaos.

Says Minnick, “I love dreams, getting lost, putting myself in unfamiliar circumstances, and starting projects without having any idea of how to finish them. Order that emerges from laying down paint and then figuring out where to go, or from meetings of strangers, or from mixing contrasting foods and lighting a fire, is often more beautiful to me than anything that’s carefully planned.”

Minnick studied creative writing at the University of Michigan, and art and photography at Macomb Community College.
